There is no better time than the present for us to invest in our wellness.

When we say “wellness,” we’re speaking on more than just health.

For example, we can physically be the healthiest person we know; but, our finances which are also a part of our wellness can be lacking.

We can have a ton of money, yet our social life lacking.

It is a good time to invest!

Our total wellness in life makes us whole.

While investing in our wellness may not yield perfect results, the idea is to attain a level of satisfaction within our life that speaks volumes about who we are.

It is an absolute treasury is to become that super person that you have always dreamed of becoming.

Through wellness, we can travel far beyond the sky to achieve it!

What is Wellness?

GTTS - What Is Wellness?

An article at globalwellnessday.org titled “What Is Wellness,” has the most inclusive definition of wellness that I have come across.

They describe wellness as, “Wellness is an active process of becoming aware of and making choices towards a healthy and fulfilling life.”

They go on to state that wellness includes other aspects of life.

Wellness can be described as an intricate and tireless process that can facilitate an accomplished and satisfying life.

To enable a well-rounded effect, we recognize eight aspects of life: Physical, Emotional, Intellectual, Social, Spiritual, Environmental, Occupational, and Financial.

While all of these interconnected parts support total wellness, they each also have individual requirements to be successful.

For example, our workout regime cannot directly improve our social life; however, it can change our social circle and thereby benefiting us socially.

In order to live a higher quality of life, we must maintain a first-rate level of wellness.

A Good Time To Invest? Should Wellness Be A Priority?

GTTS - A Good Time To Invest? Should Wellness Be A Priority?

The short answer is yes!

By engaging in wellness-promoting activities, we can create a culture of wellness that results in healthier, happier, and more engaged us.

The sooner we start our journey, the sooner we will realize a change and benefits.

Commonly, we are distracted by things that are right in front of us.

Things that do not require much effort. If it requires too much energy, is time-consuming, or boring, we tend to put it off.

Not realizing that each delay takes us farther from where/what we desire to be.

We tend to live our lives on autopilot as situations demonstrate complacency or a lack of desire to improve.

We can excel in our performance in all aspect of life while preserving and even enhancing your wellness.

What is the Connection Between Wellness And Success?

GTTS - What is the Connection Between Wellness And Success?

It is believed that wellness is the key to achieving and perpetuating success.

In order to be successful, we must make sacrifices in every aspect of our lives.

By establishing healthy habits, we can set ourselves up to be more successful in our lives.

Many of the activities that keep us healthy can also improve our mental focus, decrease stress, and improve the quality of our lives.

Wellness is something we can/should always improve.

We generally wait until we are down or affected by a negative situation before we attempt to correct the problem.

Sometimes we wait too late!

Although solutions differ between individuals, evaluating our own needs determines how we should go about developing our path to success.

We can equip ourselves with strategies that can help us accomplish the change we require/desire.

Good Time To Invest By Taking The First Step

GTTS - Good Time To Invest By Taking The First Step

The first step is taking the time to identify and acknowledge our shortcomings.

In addition, we must take full responsibility of whatever we go through in life.

True, the circumstance may be beyond our control, but we allowed ourselves to be put in that situation in the first place.

Self-awareness is an important factor because it helps us to better understand ourselves.

There is a spectrum to which set awareness is tied.

This indicates that there are various levels of self-awareness.

As a component for continuous improvement, we must get to know ourselves.

According to a Mark Defee article, The Spectrum of Awareness has four different stages:

  • Stage 1: Unconsciously Incompetent – “We don’t know what we don’t know.”
  • Stage 2: Consciously Incompetent – “We are fully aware we’re not very good at something.”
  • Stage 3: Consciously Competent – “We’re fully aware of what we’re doing when we successfully complete a task.”
  • Stage 4: Unconsciously Competent – “Not only are we competent at something, we perform it so well we don’t even give it much thought.”

In Defee’s breakdown of this spectrum, headdresses self-awareness when mastering a skill.

The application of his depiction in to our lives fits because we approach our lives under the same guise.

Focusing on our strengths and weaknesses play a vital part of self-awareness.

Reaping The Benefits Of Your Investment

GTTS - Reaping The Benefits Of Your Investment

Once we have begun our transformation, we will ever so gradually see change.

Seeing change is important; however, continually investing is essential.

Investing in ourselves is the one thing we can do over and over again and expect a beneficial outcome.

The definition of insanity is doing something over and over again and expecting a different outcome.

Interesting!

Guess we had better stop going to the gym, going to school, or eating for that matter.

These are just some things we do over and over again, but with a purpose.

So the question becomes, are we insane for investing in ourselves?

It takes repetition and consistency to truly effect change.

Unlike banging your head against the same wall daily and expecting to gain knowledge, that would be insane.

There is power in taking small steps, the steps add up over time and each step brings us closer to our goal.

Milestones mark our progress as we achieve incremental successes.

The totality of our accomplishments will make up the whole of our success!

Identify goals, take steps to improve yourself, and make incremental achievements!

  1. Hi Ronnie,
This article was a fantastic overview of wellness. I agree that wellness should always be a priority.

Achieving wellness isn’t always easy. I find the physical and financial aspects my biggest strengths. But sometimes, I struggle with mental wellness. I won’t get into the details but I think some people would understand what I’m saying.

Investing in our wellness is very important, yet some people don’t get that message. This article was a great read on prioritize wellness. Also, I’m curious: What aspect of wellness do you think is the most important? Would that be physical, financial, spiritual, mental, or something else?

Thanks again for a great read. I know a little more about wellness than I did before.

    • Actually my friend, I believe that they are all equally important. I mean we have our strengths in one or more and we may have deficiencies in one or more. Nonetheless if we can elevate them all with balance, we will achieve a better overall wellness which is the goal. Let me know what you think.

In order to be truly happy, you need to balance your life and attain satisfaction in all areas of life. Due to the current lifestyle, we tend to neglect this very important factor. Thank you so much for the article and the very theme of your website. Everyone should read your posts! Great job! Thanks
