Undoubtedly, there are 7 keys to building Personal Wellness! We tend to go throw life as if we are not affected by the world.

Until something breaks and we are no longer in control. Alarmingly, we really have no clue as to how to better our situations.

Given that life is a complex maze, we often attempt to encounter alone. Many times, we limit the involvement of others.

Currently, we live inside a bubble that offers no bountiful rewards.

Here, we are going to discuss at the 7 keys to building Personal Wellness.

The First Step Is Identifying Personal Wellness Needs

In order to identify our Personal Wellness needs, we must first understand what that means.

Research has identified various aspects of Personal Wellness.

We recognize the following:

  • Physical
  • Emotional
  • Intellectual
  • Social
  • Spiritual
  • Environmental
  • Occupational
  • Financial

Understandably, each aspect is closely connected to the others. In fact, this overlap stresses the need to improve all of the aspects.

Needless to say, focusing on only one will not garner total Personal Wellness.

Moreover, the physical aspect is an emotional and intellectual motivator and vice versa.

Equally important, the emotional and spiritual well-being inspires confidence and boosts our social interactions.

In addition, the environmental aspect is directly related to our surroundings.

As we increase our concern for others, we reach for a healthier lifestyle to improve ourselves.

Finally, the occupational and financial aspects are intertwined as well. 

As a matter of fact, research shows that the happier we are in our occupation, the higher our financial growth becomes.

While it is possible to focus on one or two aspects, we could potential remain stagnant in other areas.

Again, that would not yield total Personal Wellness.

Simply knowing that we need to improve our Personal Wellness is not enough.

Straightaway, we must take action.

Incidentally, we all realize that there are not enough hours in a day to accomplish the mundane tasks we currently focus on.

How are we to give ourselves a total make over too?

That is NOT a million dollar question!

In order to commit to such an undertaking, we need to learn to prioritize our time and streamline our focus.

No, we do not have to quit meeting with friends, bingeing NetFlix, HBO Max, etc.

However, it is necessary to carve our dedicate to for self.

Get one or more of those friends to go to the gym with us several times a week.

Also, we can invite friends to play board games to improve intellectually.

Grow our social network and surround ourself with like minded people.

Eliminate as much negativity as possible to improve our emotional state.

Seemingly, once the decision to improve is set, it is time to create a plan.

Creating a plan to improve our Personal Wellness, we can simply the steps necessary to achieve our goals.

It is not going to be easy, but it will be worthwhile.

Imagine going to the salon or barbershop, the before and after photos speak volumes, right?

Nonetheless, a personal Wellness makeover is essentially the same, just takes more time, commitment, and patience.

Set achievable goals for each aspect, then plot out the course to achieve our mark.

Each plateau is a milestone of success.

We are not perfect, so expect to fumble the ball a couple of time (or more) until that hump is cleared.

Reluctantly, he plan may look like an organizational chart, but that is okay.

The more detailed the plan, the greater the foresight we will have.

In essence, the ability to deviate around hardships becomes second nature. This is a good thing.

Determining Which Level To Start The Plan

Where to begin this transformation has no simple answer.

There are different strokes for different folks.

For some of us, we will be simply addressing the aspects that we need to work on.

For example, if one is already healthy and exercising, then the physical aspect is already in progress.

If a person is already occupationally and financially set, then one of the other aspects should be address.

Notably, there are a variety of assessments to identify weak points in our Personal Wellness.

Moreover, gaining an understanding of where we are determines where we start.

As a general rule, take advantage of strong suits.

Remember, each aspect feeds others.

With that said, find solace in knowing we can improve our total Personal Wellness.

One step at a time, we can achieve milestones that will eventually lead us to a higher plateau.

Reevaluate The Plan After 90-Days

Understandably, an evaluation period is needed to mark growth, identify short-comings, and pose new actions.

Regrettably, improving our Personal Wellness is not a cookie-cutter event.

One size does not fit all on this tedious journey.

In the meanwhile, we have to accept that what worked for others may not work for us.

This is not the same as failure.

As a result, it simply means that we must try a different approach to achieve our goal.

Bobbing and weaving is all we do.

Trying not to be knocked down or backwards during the struggle to be more is quite a feat.

Therefore, expect the unexpected at all times.

You know what they say, ‘If it were easy, everybody would be doing it’.

But that is really not true.

If everyone knew what was required and accepted the responsibility of improving their personal wellness, they likely would do something about it.

Incidentally, no one would opt for physical, spiritual, or mental damage if it were known that they had an option.

Unfortunately, there are weaknesses in every plan; consequently, we have to address the areas that require support.

In a number instances, we are not capable of handling certain tasks ourselves. In comes a professional a last resort, if needed.

With this in mind, people that see you spiraling downward can be a savior if that level of respect is there.

Remember, all advise is not good advice.

Know the source before you jump on their bandwagon.

Their assistance could prove futile in the long run.

We must err on the side of caution to protect our own interests.

It stands to reason, facing our short-comings is probably the hardest area(s) to address.

At times, we live in denial.

Denying that we have a problem, that we are broken, or that we have are out of control makes tings just that much harder.

In effect, it is not a sign of weakness to fail at fixing a problem or to ask someone for help during a crisis.

To clarify, we are okay to lean on the shoulder(s) of someone else until we are strong enough to stand on our own.

Ask for help!

Celebrate Both Milestones And Pitfalls Of The Journey


Celebrating milestones and pitfalls gives us the courage to venture further.

With each milestone reached, we build our self-esteem.

Brazenly, we must repeat that success by implementing the steps the achieved to previous milestone.

For this reason, we must view every pitfall is a teachable moment.

A this point, we must identify and learn from the lesson.

Coincidentally, the easier it becomes to learn from our lessons, the easier it will become to reach our positive milestones.

Rest assured, failure means absolutely nothing if you fail to try.

We cannot to afraid to pay the toll to cross into a better life.

Apprehension and procrastination are the greatest two outliers that can hinder out progress.

In fact, avoid making excuses by implementing a bold but detailed plan.

Utilize the flow of small increments to reach specific points.

To summarize, the journey is one of monumental achievement compared to our current standing.

Our opportunity is now and begs to be challenged.
